1. Can the mirror be Paint?
Mirrors that are described as “Paintable” are made specially to be paintable surface ( White prime surface). Mirrors that are described as “Black Cover” are made to be installed with out painting but can still be painted. All of Spieg mirrors are ABS plastic and can be painted or chrome plated.
2. Can I purchase mirrors from Spieg Parts Co?
Spieg Parts does not sell directly to the public, but our mirrors can be found in the Auto parts stores nationwide and on several online shopping websites.
3. Will the mirror be an exact replica of the original?
All of Spieg mirrors are made to be identical and of equal quality. All of them are described as “Replacement Parts”.
4. What color will my mirror be when I receive it?
Mirrors have black , chrome or white surface, 90% of our mirrors come in black. Please contact us if you are not sure about the product you are interested in.
5. What is the difference between a manual, mechanical remote, electrical remote, electrical heated mirror and Power folding mirror ?
Manual mirrors do not have any kind of mechanism to move the glass, it must be adjusted by sticking your hand out the window.
Mechanical remote mirrors have cables with a toggle stick at the end that goes in to the car. It can be adjusted from inside the car but not electrically.
Power remote mirrors have electrical actuators that move the glass and the mirror comes with an electrical connection.
Power Heated mirrors have the same functions as power mirrors and also has the ability to heat up the glass to remove frost or defog the glass.
Power Folding mirrors fold automatically with power when car is stopped.
6. Can I install a Manual mirror if I have a Power mirror?
In the majority of cases you can change from power to manual without harming anything in the car. If there are any doubts, please contact us to assure it is possible.
7. What is “Paintable mirror”?
Paintable mirrors’ cover surface is ready to paint. It is especially used for the cars where the mirror must be painted to the color of the car.
8. What is memory in car and truck mirrors?
Memory is a function that allows the car to remember the position driver programmed own mirror so it can go back to the desired position with a touch of a button.
9. What is auto-dimming?
Auto-dimming is a function that dims the mirror automatically to adjust to the amount of light available for better visibility.
10. What is Mirror Signal Lamp ?
Signal lamps on the mirrors are flashing when the turn signal is turned on.
